Only a couple of minutes away is the High Street with its attractive range of family owned shops and resaurants and pubs. Grantown is now part of the Cairngorms National Park.

The six well-appointed rooms are individually furnished and maintained to a high standard. They offer a flexible range of accommodation to suit all. All rooms are en-suite, offering four-poster, king-size, double, and twin-bedded rooms (two rooms are situated on the ground floor) which have a shower or bath. Rooms can be let for single occupancy. Good quality beds ensure a comfortable night's rest. All rooms are centrally heated and have electrically heated underblankets.
Butterfly Cottage is our pet-friendly room, so please ensure this is your chosen room if you are travelling with your cat or dog. We cannot accept bookings with pets in any other rooms, and we will not be able to accept your stay should an alternative room be booked. Pet fee is £39 per booking and week. Pets are not accepted in any other room.
For guests staying with a pet, we encourage multiple-night stays whenever possible. A longer stay not only allows your furry friend to settle in and feel at home but also supports a more sustainable approach to travel. Cleaning and laundry efforts for pet-friendly rooms are significantly higher, and a multiple-night stay helps reduce environmental impact while allowing you and your pet to truly relax and enjoy the beauty of Grantown-on-Spey. Of course, this is not a requirement, but a mindful choice that benefits both you and the environment.
Garden Park Guest House is situated on a slight elevation, approximately 30 metres from the road. Access to the House is via a footpath, which is manageable with a rollator. Guests using a walking stick have two route options: the side pathway or strait forward from the road with 12 shallow steps.
As the house was built in 1868, the doorways are not designed for wheelchair access. However, we do have two ground-floor rooms. One features a walk-in shower, while the other has a shower with a 15cm step for entry.
While the property is not fully wheelchair accessible, guests using a walking stick or rollator should find it manageable. If you have any specific requirements or concerns, please feel free to contact us in advance, and we will be happy to assist.
We work closely with Green Tourism Ltd. We strive to reduce our carbon footprint where possible, including improved recycling, reducing our reliance on packaging, using local ingredients and consumables, minimising waste, and improving effectiveness on finite resources. We have our own herb garden, use a steam cleaning process where possible, and have a bee-friendly flower garden. We are constantly working, through our everyday activities, to improve our contribution towards a more effective result. For further information, please contact us to discuss this.
If you drive an electric car, you also have the option to charge it at our charging station by simply downloading the Tap Electric app. Starting from the 2024 season, we have equipped the south and southeast sides of the house with solar panels and replaced all water tanks to further reduce our environmental footprint.
At Garden Park Guest House, we believe in slow and sustainable travel. While we warmly welcome all guests, staying multiple nights helps reduce environmental impact. Washing linens and towels after just one night requires the same amount of water, energy, and cleaning products as a longer stay. Choosing to stay longer is a simple way to travel more sustainably.
Beyond that, a multi-night stay allows you to truly immerse yourself in Grantown-on-Spey and the wider Cairngorms National Park. Bookings are confirmed by a deposit for the first night per room. We are pleased to accept payment by cash (Sterling GBP) or with a bank card, bank transfer, or payment link (Stripe) — completely contactless. We look forward to hearing from you either by phone, e-mail, or by submitting a form on our contact page.
Each room has a complimentary beverage tray, a full range of bathroom toiletries, colour television and hair dryer. We also have a comfortable residents' lounge with TV and a log burning stove for those cold days. You can also use our WiFi facility from all rooms in the house.
For walkers, cyclists and golfers we have drying facilities and lockable storage on site. Luggage transfer can be arranged to your next night's accommodation, please ask us before your arrive. This guest house is completely non-smoking and we offer off-road parking.
Grantown-on-Spey, founded in the 18th century, is the historical capital of Strathspey nestling in the heart of the Scottish Highlands.
Few areas in Scotland provide the year-round tourist attraction and sporting opportunities that can be found in the Spey Valley and Cairngorm Mountain area, making Grantown the ideal base for exploring the area. On March 25th 2003 the Cairngorms National Park, the largest National Park in the UK (3800 km²) was established by the Scottish Parliament, extending from Grantown-on-Spey down through the Cairngorm Mountains. This will develop the natural and cultural heritage of our area even further for the enjoyment of tourists and locals alike. Scotland is the best place to get back to nature with red deer, otters, dolphins, golden eagles, osprey and pine martens.
For active outdoor enthusiasts, activities include fishing and stalking with a local guide - we can arrange this for you during your stay.
Or how about a game of golf on one of seven local courses in Grantown, Carrbridge, Boat of Garten, Newtonmore, Kingussie, Aviemore, and Craggan.
There are also local facilities for horse riding, pony trekking, bird watching, skiing, snow boarding, white water rafting, and hill and forest walking in the Cairngorms and Cromdale Mountains. For all these activities there is secure storage and drying facilities plus packed lunches and flask refills. We are also the guest house closest to the Speyside Way route.
Visit the 7 distilleries and cooperage on the Malt Whisky Trail plus the Cashmere Visitor Centre, Brodie Countryfayre, potteries, Baxters Soup and Walkers Biscuit factories.
Enjoy a family day out at Ballindalloch Castle, the home of the Macpherson-Grant family. For real historical interest why not visit Cawdor Castle, or the battlefield experience at Culloden?
For something a little closer, why not visit Grantown Museum situated just around the corner from Garden Park - a fascinating insight into Grantown's history, culture and people?
We do not provide lunch or evening meals, but since 2025 twice a week we offer our ‘wee fancy Sandwich’ – The Brügel Swiss art. More information will be shared at Garden Park Guest House. We are also happy to share and recommend our personal local favourites. Whether you are vegan or love meat or fish, Grantown offers a great variety.
